Outmuscle

I have been an athlete all my life and have consistently worked out since college. When I was 20, I started my law enforcement career and while working third shift I gained a lot of weight. I still worked out but I literally out-ate my workouts. I knew when the fresh made cinnamon rolls were coming out of the oven at the local convenience station. And I never turned down a greasy breakfast with my fellow officers. In the spring of 2001, I stepped on the scale and I was a fat 257 pounds. I didn’t feel good, clothes didn’t fit, and had low self-esteem. That’s when I bought a book that literally changed my life’s direction.

I was working as our department’s School Resource Officer so I had access to the school gym before or after school. I started lifting weights and following a basic but nothing crazy diet. I eventually was down to 230 pounds, then 215, and the rest is history. It was not easy and it took several months of staying consistent and eating smarter. That’s when I began to dive in deep into fitness and nutrition. I left law enforcement in 2005 and started selling Mercedes Benz but my workout regimen didn’t stop, in fact, I joined a gym and committed myself to working out every day before work. The guys at work started to ask me what I was doing and how I could help them get started working out and changing their diet.

In 2010, I started training clients in-home while working as a paralegal. I decided to commit to helping people achieve fitness full-time in 2012 when I moved to Chicago to train at XSport Fitness. Since then I’ve trained hundred’s of clients, have mentored dozens of personal trainers, and have now decided to start my own company focusing on the client and helping them achieve a healthier life through fitness and nutrition in an environment they are comfortable with. I can train you online, in your home, at a studio, or even at my outside gym. I can coach you basically however you are comfortable being trained and with minimal equipment.

In my experience, nutrition has been my clients biggest challenge. I went through the certification with Precision Nutrition to increase my knowledge of the role diet plays in our lives and how to make steady changes to reach our goals. During the coronavirus quarantine I went through the certification process again, just to stay current with changes in nutrition. And now, I’m super excited as I have been selected to be mentored by Sam Miller for the Functional Nutrition and Metabolism Science Certification. This certification is a game changer as it focuses on understanding, repairing, and optimizing hormones through lifestyle, training, and nutrition. In other words, whether it’s weight loss or weight gain, it is more than just “moving more” and “calories in vs. calories out”. To achieve our goals, we need to look at the entire picture like your sleep, hunger, recovery, energy, digestion, and stress; and then make adjustments to your lifestyle based on these self-evaluated components, and in some cases, based on your blood test results. This is super big as I will be able to offer clients something that very few other coaches can offer.

I have trained all sorts of common people looking to improve their fitness, have more energy, feel better, move pain free, lose weight, gain weight, and improve their sport performance. I’ve trained athletes as young as 10 and those in their 80’s. I thrive on challenging clients. So wherever you are in your journey to living a healthier life, I can help you get there. It won’t be easy, you’ll feel frustrated at times, but as long as you are honest with me, you will always have my support in your pursuit of living a healthier and fitter life.
